The Illinois Regional Cancer Center (IRCC) is a state-of-the-art outpatient cancer care program dedicated to excellence in all aspects of patient care related to radiation.

The Illinois Regional Cancer Center (IRCC) in DeKalb, is in partnership with KishHealth System.

The clinical management of most cancer patients includes multi-modality treatments: radiation therapy, chemotherapy and surgery. Radiation is used to transmit energy into cancerous tumors and destroy the ability of the cancerous cells to grow and reproduce. Chemotherapy is a medication-based treatment. With repeated treatments of either or both radiation and chemotherapy, the tumor may stop growing or decrease in size.

In order to determine the best possible radiation treatment, our radiation oncologist uses revolutionary imaging process called three-dimensional AcQsim. Virtual Simulation is a very powerful tool which allows the cancerous area to be viewed from any single angle - even inside the body. The goal of radiation therapy is to precisely administer radiation to diseased tissue while sparing as much healthy tissue as possible.

Types of treatment: 3D | IMRT | BAT| IGRT

IRCC is the only site in DeKalb County to offer three dimensional AcQSim as well as Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
