Our Services
KishHealth Cancer Care Services utilizes the latest technology in diagnosing and treating cancer. Patient treatment plans are specific to the individual and the type of cancer being treated. Treatments may include a combination of surgery, radiation or infusion therapy such as chemotherapy.
Medical Oncology - Includes chemotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy and biological response modifier therapy medications and access to clinical trials. Treatment plans are based on type of cancer, family history, and genetic testing such as Braca -1 testing. These outpatient infusion therapy services are offered at Kishwaukee Cancer Care Center.
Radiation Oncology - Radiation is used to transmit energy into cancerous tumors and destroy the ability of the cancerous cells to grow and reproduce. Illinois Regional Cancer Center offers this service using the latest technology of IMRT and ACCULOC IGRT. Surgery is often used to diagnose cancer and sometimes to remove the cancerous tumor. The surgeons work closely with the oncologist to develop a personalized treatment plan.
Diagnostic - Kishwaukee Community Hospital's comprehensive diagnostic services include state-of-the-art equipment and experienced staff.
Alternative Therapies - In additional to tradition medical treatment, patients are encouraged to utilize services provided through physical and massage therapy, counseling and pain management.
Breast Clinic For patients diagnosed with breast cancer, a meeting is arranged with the patient, their family, a medical oncologist, radiation oncologist and surgeon to discuss treatment options. A complete care plan is developed with input from every discipline involved in the patient's care. Everyone involved will know exactly what the treatment plan is, after the breast clinic meeting.
Head and Neck Clinic This clinic is specifically meant to evaluate and treat patients with head and neck cancer. The clinic combines the expertise of a radiation oncologist, a medical oncologist, and a head and neck surgical oncologist. In addition to having all three physicians meet with the patient and family simultaneously, we provide consultation with a nutritionist, speech therapist, and an audiologist as needed.
